History

The temple houses a 400-year-old, self-originated (Swayambhu) idol of Lord Ganesha, believed to have sprung from the earth It's revered as the "Paschim Dwarpalak" (Western Sentinel God), guarding India's western coast, unlike most temples facing east "Ganapati" (Lord Ganesha) + "Pule" (sand dune/beach), possibly from the sandy soil or Ganesha arriving at the beach
